1. Introduction

We designed Murmur around a fundamental reality: Protected Health Information (PHI) is the most sensitive data in the world. Therefore, our privacy policy is built on an absolute zero-knowledge architecture.

2. Zero-Knowledge Processing

Murmur operates locally on your Mac. When you dictate, your audio is captured by your microphone, processed into text by the Whisper AI model running locally, and injected into your target application format.

• No Audio Storage: Audio data is kept in volatile memory strictly for processing and instantly overwritten. It is never saved to the hard drive.
• No Cloud Transmission: Your voice does not travel over the internet to be transcribed.
• No Telemetry Tracking: We do not track what applications you use the software in or the contents of your dictations.

3. Cloud Features (Pro Only)

If you explicitly enable an external cloud formatting provider, transcript text is sent to that provider over an encrypted connection for formatting. Use external providers only when your workflow and compliance requirements allow transcript text to leave your Mac. The core local dictation feature does not use this pipeline.

4. Payment Data

We use Stripe to process all license payments. We do not store or process any of your credit card information directly.
